Yum
Pre-school recently sent home the annual note for school photos. It seemed a bit more expensive than usual, but hey, what can you do? So we signed up and I expected the usual badly painted disney background and fake smiles.

I guess you get what you pay for.

For the record, are these not the coolest official pre-school photos ever?

Wow! Those are great! Our daycare does official photos that I think the owners dog takes because they are uniformly terrible. But these are wonderful :)

laughing through my sinus pain at the notion of the owner's dog rounding up the kids for their pics...

Those are awesome photos, Bec! I don't think I have ever seen any so cool!
And I am seriously laughing at Surfing Free's comment and I can't help picturing it in my head too!

The Prof actually tears up when he looks at the hugging pic - he wants it blown up large for the wall.

But that's really what our little guys are like these days: the Sparkle Twin puked all over the car on the way to preschool yesterday and had to come home with me for the day. She was napping when the other two kids got home, and the Gorgeous Boy's first question was "where's Sparkle? I missed her today."

We must be doing something right (unless maybe we're so bad at parenting that the kids have no choice but to cling together? hmmm)

Holey MOLEY!
Those are wonderful! Are those your darling children, or an 'example'?
We get the 'stunned deer in headlights' or 'fake smile with teeth only; eyes not smiling' in our school photos. We didn't buy youngest's last year as my husband said "GAD! It looks like a mug shot!" They waited until youngest was vacant-eyed and slack jawed. Which he never is. I mean, they must've waited a good 5 minutes to catch him sans his intense glare!

Hi mscellania - yes, these are definitely my two youngest. I think. No, wait, they are. You can tell because both my girls have inherited their mother's gene for "hair that will never stay put for a photo" - although in their case it usually comes off as cute.

And yes, it possibly helps that I have produced the most beautiful children in pre-school (good thing no one enrolled there reads this blog!!)

And lest that last comment be misunderstood. I have two girls, only one of whom is pictured here, and one boy, who IS pictured here with his twin sister.

Awww, beautiful children! no matter what they charge you for the pics today, they will be priceless in the future.

OMG - these are stunning. These are like the ones you pay a photographer squillions for and never 'quite' get because someone's eyes aren't quite open enough, or someone is looking the wrong way, and so on and so forth. Stunning.

Wow. Our school photos look like a parade of mug shots taken of a huge gang of well-dressed criminal children.

Well done!

Amazing photography & v. cute kids (of course). I've given up on school photos as ours are always so darn awful!

I had just received our preschool shots. I'll call them "shots in the dark" because compared to yours they really look rather hit and miss. Who is the photographer - maybe they could be persuaded to come over the north side?

Lovely, lovely photos - snap 'em all up!

We just paid alot of the stiff staged kind .. even though this is what I requested.

Jealous - they are lovely !

Those are amazing!

School photos that feature real, live CHILDREN behaving as children in their natural habitat are reported to do!

Stunning! They're very cute.
